Sin City is an excerpt from three issues of Frank Miller's long-running comic book series. The first story: "The Hard Goodbye" stars Mickey Rourke as Marv, a grotesque butcher who avenges the prostitute he worships because she was the only one who dared to sleep with him but was killed on the same night of love. The second story: "The Big Fat Kill", stars Clive Owen as Dwight McCarthy, a photographer who accidentally kills a dirty cop, breaking the secret agreement between the prostitute gang and the police, causing a terrifying confrontation. The third story: "That Yellow Bastard", features Bruce Willis as police officer John Hartigan, a rare good man who pays a heavy price for protecting an innocent stripper. These three separate stories are written in chapters and come together at the end, surprising the audience.
