The title of the movie Gran Torino is taken from the name of the old 1972 Ford car of old man Walt Kowalski, an American soldier who participated in the war in Korea. The film is about Walt Kowalski trying to convert his neighbor, Thao Lor, a Hmong teenager who is trying to steal his classic car.
