The film tells the story of the Spengler family who decide to leave Summerville, Oklahoma to return to New York. Here, the “original ghost hunters” have developed a high-security research laboratory, seeking to take the destruction of ghosts to the next level with a state-of-the-art proton weapon. However, an accident accidentally releases Death Chill - a mysterious and evil force inside an ancient artifact. This forces both the “veterans” and “rookies” of the ghost hunters to work together to protect their home, as well as the world, from the threat called Death Chill.
